The facade, garden and driveway say everything about a house. Lighting plays a crucial part in shaping this impression. Many customers are particularly fastidious when it comes to choosing suitable lights. They would like to benefit from the convenience and efficiency of sensor-controlled lights, but want the sensor system to be as unobtrusive as possible.
This is why STEINEL has now developed a Mini- Sensor that's so small it can be integrated perfectly into the design of a light where it can hardly be seen without compromising on the quality familiar from STEINEL sensors. This miniaturisation is made possible by combining an extremely efficient sensor chip with precision mirror optics that take in the infrared radiation through a narrow, hardly visible ring window within a 360° radius and guide it onto the chip.
The sensor chip has four detector segments, providing it with twice as many switching zones as conventional infrared sensors. This means that in addition to miniaturising the sensor, it has also been possible to give it an outstanding quality of detection.
The new MiniSensor module has already found its way into a number of new upmarket, designer-style series covering a wide range of tastes.
Standard programme (pre-set) for light bulbs: Light soft start/soft end, no basic brightness at dusk.
Comfort programme for light bulbs: Light soft start/soft end, 25% basic brightness at dusk.
Comfort economy programme for light bulbs: Light soft start/soft end, 25% basic brightness up to midnight (the middle of the night is determined by the solar cycle measured).
Low-energy bulb programme: Light on in response to movement, light off again after time set. No soft start, no basic brightness.
Soft light start and soft end
The innovative STEINEL soft light start function from gently and elegantly takes light bulbs to 100 % output and also switches them down to 0 % output in the same way. This not only looks good, it prolongs bulb life.
Basic brightness function
All STEINEL lights with the MiniSensor can be set to operate with a basic brightness of approx. 25% (Watt-omatic) until midnight (programme 1) or right through the night (programme 2). When movement is detected, the light switches to full power for the time selected.
The new operating concept
To permit rapid, intuitive adjustability of the sensor electronics to individual user needs, the entire sensor module can be taken out of the light, set in your own time, put back in again and made theftproof. If settings are made in twilight hours or at night, the light switches on automatically as soon as the sensor is removed. All of the information you need to know is printed onto the sensor module itself, obviating the need for any operating instructions.
