Glueing is seen as the joining method of the future. With PurGlue 50, hot-melt adhesive pioneer STEINEL has developed a bonding system that meets the most exacting of demands in industry and the trades. The innovative, PUR (polyurethane) based hot-melt adhesive system combines the advantages of hot-melt glues with the benefits of reaction adhesives and provides a high-strength bond between virtually any materials.The advantages of PUR bonded joints at a glance:

STEINEL's innovative PurGlue system represents a milestone in the development of hot-melt bonding.
The new special PUR (polyurethane) adhesive not only sticks wood, various plastics, leather and
textiles permanently but also provides an extremely strong bond between smooth materials, such as ceramics, glass, marble or metal.
The adhesive is contained in a cartridge that is inserted into the PurGlue 50's heating head. The energy required to heat the glue is supplied from the charging station. This concept allows you to work cordlessly – on the station, the cartridge heats up to the required melting temperature. Once working temperature is reached, the unit automatically switches to stand-by. Each charge provides approx. 20 minutes of working time.
High final bond strength of PUR
PurGlue is based on a newly developed polyurethane adhesive. This solvent-free single-component adhesive sets by reacting with ambient moisture. Hence, the bond assumes its strength in two stages: an immediate initial bond is attained when the PUR hot-melt adhesive cools, normally obviating the need for fixing devices. In a second phase, a chemical reaction between the adhesive and moisture results in subsequent crosslinking to produce a high-strength and extremely permanent join.
Many different applications
With the exception of materials that cannot be glued, such as PP, PE and rigid foam (polystyrene), the PurGlue hot-melt adhesive can be used to provide a permanent bond between all materials. The PUR hot-melt adhesive is waterproof and thermally stable at temperatures from -40 to +100°C, making it suitable for use indoors and outdoors as well as in damp environments. All PUR bonds can be separated by applying heat (130 °C) from a hot air gun without leaving residue.
