Proven intelligent PIR sensor technology for maximum efficiency and comfort in buildings.

STEINEL has been developing passive infrared sensors (PIR) for over 30 years and is one of the pioneers of this technology. PIR sensors detect the infrared radiation emitted by warm objects such as people and use it to efficiently control lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and building management systems. A special feature is the precise detection of the presence of people in the room, even with minimal movement. Rooms are automatically illuminated or temperature-controlled as soon as people are detected. Compared to other technologies, such as ultrasonic or radio frequency, PIR sensors specialise in thermal radiation and are therefore ideal for areas where accurate presence detection is crucial - such as offices, conference rooms or public buildings. This technology improves the efficiency of modern buildings, reduces energy consumption and contributes significantly to comfortable use.
