Training as a Design Engineer – Visions become reality - with your support!

Design Engineers are at home in the MEM industries. The mechanical, electrical and metal industry is versatile and globally orientated. After completing their 4-year apprenticeship, they work primarily in the mechanical, electrical and metal industries. But that's not all: they are also sought-after professionals in engineering offices or public administrations.

What a Design Engineer does

Design Engineers work with engineers to turn ideas into products for everyday use. They design individual parts and assemblies for devices and production systems. They create design drawings on the computer and prepare technical documents.

Who will guide you through your training in the field of design engineering?

oem-solutions-andre-bisig-rund-1000x1000.jpg

My name is André Bisig, I was born on 22 December 1985 and I am passionate about all things technical.

I've been working at STEINEL Solutions in the design and mechanics department since 2008, where my tasks are mainly in the area of equipment design and production and housing development for electronics.

I started at STEINEL as an «Design Engineer VET (EFZ) in training», since 2016 I have been a «qualified technician HF mechanical engineering - technical school HF Zurich» and I am now responsible for vocational training in design. I enjoy working in a team and I really like the variety between design, administration and mechanical and assembly work.

I like to spend my free time with friends, working on the family's alpine pastures, doing outdoor sports, eating out and riding my motorbike - and my interest in technology is not neglected here either!
