Lighting control in corridors and passageways

Täfernhof commercial building, Switzerland

The Täfernhof business premises were built at Baden-Dättwil in Switzerland in 2015. Spread over 5 storeys, they provide 14,000 sq.m. of cutting-edge commercial floor space for medical practices, service providers and for technical businesses. The brief was to install a KNX building automation system so that all key building functions could be controlled energy-efficiently. Lighting in the public corridors is controlled automatically in relation to usage and daylight via KNX detectors from STEINEL.

The Dual HF KNX dedicated corridor sensor that was installed has a detection zone geared particularly to the narrow and long architecture of these spaces. KNX detectors from STEINEL are particularly easy to install and configure. All settings can be made and changed via ETS software or directly via panel or smart phone. As a result, minor changes can easily be made by building service technicians themselves – saving time and money.

The Dual HF KNX high-frequency corridor sensor is ideal for passageways and long corridors. Four lighting channels and HVAC can be controlled via the digital BUS interface. The DUAL HF technology for detecting movement in two directions provides radial detection independently of temperature over a distance of up to 20 m.
