Intelligent lighting solutions for underground and multi-storey car parks

Sensors from the NET product family installed in linear luminaires provide an intelligent, modern lighting solution for underground and multi-storey car parks. Both operators and guests benefit from advantages such as energy efficiency, high-quality light, simple planning and preparation, and commissioning via a web and mobile app, which in turn results in significant savings in operating costs.

Until now, underground and multi-storey car park lighting has been one thing above all for operators: cost-intensive. Especially because it has to be provided 24/7. Innovative and intelligent lighting systems are energy-efficient because the lighting is only switched on when it is actually needed.

If the system detects pedestrians or cars, the relevant lighting zone is illuminated. When no more movement is detected, the lighting switches to a dimmed comfort light or off completely, depending on the programming. This means that there is always sufficient light where it is needed, which reduces costs and increases the quality of the light as well as the comfort of the lighting in the underground or multi-storey car park.

SENSOTEC sensors and technologies in use

The SENSOTEC sensors are optimised for installation in luminaires. They provide a quick and easy way to design and commission an intelligent lighting system.

The SENSOTEC sensor HF2 NET and the extension NET, which is intended for a luminaire without sensors and is used to expand the Bluetooth mesh network, are in use.

High frequency (HF)

STEINEL high-frequency sensor system detects movement instantly and without any loss of "sensitivity" as a result of ambient temperature or the direction of movement of the object being detected. The lighting is switched on depending on the movement detected and the brightness measured. Areas where no presence is detected are illuminated with a basic light of 10-50 per cent.

Wireless Connection via Bluetooth Mesh SIG

Intelligent, radio-controlled control of lights provides the framework for fully utilising the potential of LED lighting. The lights exchange information on motion detection and brightness measurement with each other, thereby ensuring efficient, needs-based lighting. STEINEL Solutions is a Bluetooth Mesh SIG Adopter Member.

Silvair web and mobile app

Quick installation and commissioning: The wireless networking of the luminaires reduces the installation effort and makes planning easier and more flexible. The appropriate settings (e.g. dimming level) and group networking can be prepared in the Silvair web app and later in the mobile app.
