Building Intelligence for Office & Work Environments

12.30 p.m. - 3.45 p.m. Important appointment at Campana & Schott, Frankfurt/Main

The idea behind
Sensor technology that organizes meeting rooms exactly the way we want them to be: Simple.

Like many modern employers, the technology consultancy Campana & Schott from Frankfurt would like to offer its employees an attractive workplace, even though office space in metropolitan areas is scarce and expensive. At the same time, existing space is often not optimally utilised due to changes in the world of work. The use of meeting rooms is a central component of everyday working life. Campana & Schott organises the web-based booking and allocation of meeting rooms with the Smart Workspace solution. The HPD2 optical sensor from STEINEL provides the digital data on room utilisation. An assistance system using Chat Bot and Digital Signage helps employees find available rooms and saves valuable working time.

The project

  • Customer: Campana & Schott
  • Location: Frankfurt, Germany

As an optical sensor, the HPD2 detects whether and how many persons are in a meeting room. A single HPD2 can watch over a room with up to 100 m² of floor space.

Flexible rooms and appointments: reservations can be made from anywhere with the web-based solution.

The right room for every meeting.

Despite digitalisation and home offices, meeting rooms in the analogue office are in demand. Before every meeting, the search and booking for a suitable room must be managed. The number of meeting rooms is usually limited. In addition, spontaneous changes of the appointment, the participants or even the cancellation of the planned meeting make booking more difficult. With the Smart Workspace solution, not only the organization of meetings becomes easier and valuable working time is saved. The utilization of the available space can also be analyzed and potential savings can be defined.

Finding rooms the easy way

Sensor data helps staff find available and suitable rooms in real time. Digital-signage screens, the web portal or the assistance bot can be used for this purpose. Members of staff save precious working time in looking for rooms.

The HPD2 tells the system when a booked meeting room is not being used. A chatbot reminds the meeting organiser that the room is booked. If the meeting room is no longer needed, it can be made available again. This avoids no-show reservations.

Washrooms

With the aid of intelligent sensors, the light in sporadically used rooms such as the bathroom and WC is switched according to use. This saves energy and makes the light switch superfluous.
