Protecting our livelihood

By doing business and achieving our corporate goals, we leave our mark on the planet. To ensure that these are as small as possible, we align our production sustainably in order to protect the basis of life for all of us in the best possible way. Our products and services should be manufactured in a way that conserves resources and leaves behind as few harmful substances as possible. In this way, we safeguard the basis of life for the future. However, this way of thinking and acting does not only refer to the production process, but already starts with the development and design of our products. A sustainable product life cycle is our benchmark.

Environmental and energy management

We want to become better

DIN Standards

In aligning our environmental and energy management, we are guided by existing international standards. We rely on a continuous improvement process to achieve the environmental goals we have defined. Through an energy audit, we have independent third parties check where we stand and how we can further improve the energy efficiency of the company.

- DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 quality management according to environmental management according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 energy management according to DIN EN ISO 50001:2018 (Steinel Mölkau)
- energy audit according to DIN 16247-1: 2012

Sustainable product development

Even during the development of our products, we pay attention to sustainable design. For example, luminaires with fully integrated LEDs have a significantly longer service life compared to luminaires with replaceable light sources. Fully integrated LED systems can be better connected to heat sinks. This means they can be operated at low temperatures. This ensures a longer service life for the LEDs. This longevity saves resources and avoids electrical waste, as no components need to be disposed of. That is sustainability for us.

Plastic free packaging

We have set a goal to deliver all our products in plastic-free packaging by 2022. Thus, all accessories are now in bags made from 100% recycled paper, instead of the conventional plastic bags. We are replacing the styrofoam used to date to secure the goods with precisely fitting molded fiber parts with the same degree of protection. The extensive operating instructions are exchanged for small clear Quickstarts, which require only 12.5% of the previously used amount of paper.

Solutions that drastically reduce CO2

With our Lighting Intelligence solutions, over 90% of the energy used for lighting can already be saved in parking garages worldwide. And that with greater comfort for users and a quick return on investment for operators.

Conviction for our ideas drives us every day. And sometimes even our boldest predictions are exceeded. So it has succeeded in a parking garage in Zurich by modernizing the lighting system to save over 92% energy.

Heuried in numbers

-92%

Energy consumption
Thanks to intelligent luminaires and networking, we only need 8% of the energy previously used.

30%

Fewer luminaires
Compared to conventional solutions, fewer luminaires are required.

80%

Higher light level
Despite less energy used, we can increase the light level by 80%.

Governance - Trust through openness

Responsible and sustainable corporate governance requires compliance with legal framework conditions. Compliance, transparency and evaluation by independent third parties are just as much a part of this as internal organizational structures. We are committed to this with value-oriented action.
