REACH (= Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemical Substances)

The REACH regulation (EG) No. 1907/2006 is the European regulation of chemicals and stands for the registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemical substances. It has been in force in the European Union since 2007. Their scope includes all substances and chemical mixtures as a separate unit or in selected products. With the help of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) the REACH regulation is implemented and monitored. Following aims are set in the first article of the regulation:

• The guarantee of a high level of protection for human health and environment
• The guarantee of the free circulation of substances in the domestic market
• The improvement of competitveness and innovation

ECHA Candidate List: Obligation to Inform about Substances of Very High Concern according to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation

The obligation to inform applies to so-called substances of very high concern (SVHC). Information about used SVHC and the products‘ safe use have to be delivered within the supply chain. Those substances are listed in the candidate list of the ECHA which is updated every six months. The current version of the candidate list is available on the ECHA’s website.

To the best of our knowledge and based on our suppliers‘ information there are some of our offered products which contain SVHC substances on the candidate list in a concentration above 0,1 % mass percent. If our knowledge changes, we will provide further information about affected STEINEL products on our website as soon as possible.

Il regolamento REACH (CE) n. 1907/2006 è il regolamento europeo sulle sostanze chimiche e riguarda la registrazione, la valutazione, l'autorizzazione e la restrizione delle sostanze chimiche. È in vigore nell'Unione Europea dal 2007. Il suo campo di applicazione comprende tutte le sostanze e le miscele chimiche come unità separate o in prodotti selezionati. Il regolamento REACH viene attuato e controllato con l'aiuto dell'Agenzia europea per le sostanze chimiche (ECHA). L'articolo 1 del regolamento formula i seguenti obiettivi:

• Garantire un elevato livello di protezione della salute umana e dell'ambiente
• Garantire la libera circolazione delle sostanze nel mercato interno
• Migliorare la competitività e l'innovazione

Elenco di sostanze candidate dell'ECHA: obbligo di informazione sulle sostanze estremamente preoccupanti ai sensi dell'articolo 33 del regolamento REACH

L'obbligo di informazione si applica alle cosiddette sostanze estremamente preoccupanti (Substances of Very High Concern - SVHC). Devono essere trasmesse informazioni sulle SVHC utilizzate e sull'uso sicuro dei prodotti all'interno della catena di fornitura. Le sostanze specifiche sono elencate nell'elenco dei candidati dell'ECHA, che viene aggiornato ogni sei mesi. La versione aggiornata dell'elenco dei candidati è disponibile sul sito web dell'ECHA.

In base alle nostre attuali conoscenze e alle informazioni dei nostri fornitori, alcuni dei nostri prodotti attualmente offerti contengono sostanze SVHC superiori ai limiti dello 0,1% in massa dell'elenco dei candidati dell'ECHA.
