Energy-efficient lighting control

Climate Hus Arena Växjö, Sweden

The Södra Climate Hus in Växjö, Sweden, is the world's first indoor tennis centre to be constructed of timber and meet the internationally recognised 'Passive House' standard. Opened in August 2012, the indoor tennis centre not only provides ultra-modern training facilities, but is also an environment that points the way in energy-efficient building automation.

The lighting concept in the Climate Hus Arena reflects the exacting demands on energy-efficient lighting management. The brief here was to provide optimum illumination for the four tennis courts as well as power-saving, on-demand lighting for other areas, such as conference rooms, offices, corridors and passageways. All of the devices installed were to be integrated by KNX into the building's overall automation concept.

To avoid any complication in meeting these demands, Bravida, the installation company contracted from Växjö, opted for presence detectors from the STEINEL Control PRO range.
