HPD2. We have taught our sensor how to count. You won't believe all of the things you can do with this.

Wherever you want to know how many people are present at a certain location, the HPD2 provides the information you need. How many people are in the office? Who is sitting where? Are there many people waiting at the lifts? What is the situation like on the stairs? Is there a queue at the checkout? Information in a dimension that's only just being discovered. Building digitisation and connectivity are increasing at an ever faster pace. This includes sensory organs that make it possible to analyse specific zones.

  • The only optical sensor of its kind in the world
  • Integrated, advanced image recognition and real-time processing. 150,000 positive images and 7 million negative images
  • Output of temperature and air humidity measured
  • 10 m reach with 5 precise, definable detection zones

What? How many? Where? When? More intelligence with optical multi-sensor systems.

The world's best specialists have developed this system. With the HPD2, STEINEL is making a quantum leap in sensor technology.

It is the world's first presence detector that's not only capable of detecting whether people are present but can also count them. In addition, the HPD2 comes with integrated temperature and humidity sensors. Light, heating and air-conditioning can finally be controlled in line with demand for the number of people present in a room.

A workplace in a large city can cost € 10,000 a year and more. And sometimes not even half of these workplaces are effectively occupied. The Desk Sharing solution tells you at a glance where desks are still available and where not. Idea: increase the utilisation rate and save money.

Which conference room is available? Which one is being used? Where is the meeting? Our Meeting Room solution lets you identify room utilisation and actual use quickly and reliably, and even how many people are in it.

Put an end to long waiting times at the lift! The HPD2 can tell you exactly when one or ten people are waiting for the lift. And how many people are currently in it. This way, for instance, a full lift can pass by floors and then return to them as quick as possible when empty.

Nobody likes to stand in a queue. Neither at the supermarket nor at lunch in the cafeteria. The Waiting Line solution opens new checkouts and allocates personnel in order to eliminate queues as soon as possible.

One sensor, five zones and many good reasons for optical sensors.

Saving energy, optimising costs, creating mood and atmosphere, protecting health, encouraging motivation, improving processes, boosting satisfaction, analysing development mistakes, conserving resources ... once you have understood the principle, it's obvious why we had to invent the HPD2. It now goes way beyond lighting alone. It's all about information and analysing it.
