People counter without camera – the technology.
The EO Smart Space Sensor can anonymously count how many people are in a room. Depending on the number of people detected, lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning are controlled as needed. In a building where HVAC technology runs at 100% for safety and comfort reasons, the data provided by EO can be used to deploy energy in a much more targeted manner and reduce consumption. For example, in a meeting room designed to accommodate 20 people, the ventilation and air conditioning can be automatically reduced to a lower setting if there are only three people present. Only when the room becomes more crowded is the output increased in line with demand. This prevents unnecessary energy consumption and operating costs without compromising user comfort. Such visualisations of the recorded data can be implemented with the STEINEL Capstone platform. Individual floor plans and diagrams in selectable displays enable detailed processing of the recorded sensor measurements in the building.
