In its own offices, open workspace, and kitchen, SBC relies on the IP-based STEINEL EO Sensor—the heart of smart office control. The goal: to gain valuable insights into the use of the premises and increase room comfort and energy efficiency.

The EO Sensor measures temperature, humidity, presence, VOC, and CO₂, providing a comprehensive picture of room quality. In combination with Capstone software, the data is visualized and analyzed in real time – for maximum transparency, efficiency, and a healthy indoor climate.

The result: a working environment that perfectly combines technology and well-being.

EO use for building analysis

Six IP-based EO Smart Space sensors are installed in the SBC office space. The infrared matrix presence detector detects the presence of people with a 360° panoramic view and controls the lighting in the open workspace, individual offices, large meeting room, and kitchen depending on movement or presence.

In areas where no one is present, the lights are automatically switched off.

When the rooms are in use, the lights switch on automatically.

A tablet on the wall shows the status of room usage. Red means occupied, green means free.

The connection between hardware and software

Capstone

The Capstone® software solution detects and visualises all EO IP sensors in the network. This provides a complete overview of the building status: temperature, humidity, CO2, VOC, noise, smoke, presence, brightness and number of people. Based on the analysed data, optimisation suggestions for better space utilisation can then be generated.

Various dashboards are available to visualise the data, providing a clear overview of the building status.
